The 30 Gallon HEXAGON

Always loving the look of Hexagon Aquariums, I kept a constant watch on Craigslist for a good deal. A couple of weeks ago there was a post for a 30 Gallon Hexagon for $30. I called, zoomed over and carried it out of dudes basement. Still haven't done a leak test but if there's an issue I'll just re-caulk. The seller was very generous but didn't have a stand. My first DIY goal is to create a stand.

Hexagon Aquarium - August '17 Update

Fry, Fry, Fry I knew guppies were prolific, but wow! With the guppy trio only being in the tank for a few months they have rapidly polulated the tank. Just last night I saw a new batch of fry; I'm thinking there are at least 3 or 4 different broods based on size. I look forward to growing out the fry and seeing if we get and color. Thus far, there are only a few that have a dark colored tail. Otherwise, they are mostly colorless.

The Hex Build - Stand - Part 2

Part 2 - Leg Assembly Once the legs were all cut, I assemble two of the legs halves to create one of the Hexagon corners. I used wood glue and wood screws to make the connection. Since the connection isn't square i was unable to use any clamps. Took a lot of muscle to get the joint nice and aligned. Here's a picture of two legs combined to for a side. It's really coming together!
